Breathe.
 

When you feel like you’re about to POP...
Don’t solve the problem...
Don’t think...

Don’t DO anything!

Just breathe.

90 seconds of slow, deliberate breathing will calm your nervous system and bring back your higher brain functions.

It helps to put your hand on your heart and focus your attention there while you breathe.

When your brain re-engages, it’ll need to partner with your Heart if it’s going to generate any useful ideas.

But for now, everything else can wait.

Just . . . .

Breathe.

PS: Of course, if someone is in imminent danger of death or dismemberment, don’t “just breathe”! Establish minimal safety, then just breathe. :)
